Flying?

The closest airport is Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR). It is 12.9 miles from The Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort. Several major airlines, including Delta, US Air, United, and Northwest fly in and out of Myrtle Beach.

The Hilton offers an airport shuttle. However, it only runs fromThe Hilton to the airport, not from the airport to The Hilton. The rate is $20 per person, and the shuttle leaves at 8:30 am, 10:30 am, and 12:30 pm.

There are always taxis aplenty waiting at the airport—no need to make arrangements in advance. Our best information is that cab fare to the hotel, which is approximately 15-20 minutes away, is $35 -$38. As many attendees will be coming in around the same time, sharing a taxi should be easy if you coordinate in advance. We'll add a forum topic closer to conference time to help attendees connect. SCWW volunteers will be in and out of the airport most of the day on Thursday and Friday picking up faculty. We will be dressed in orange SCWW logo golf shirts, and the Myrtle Beach airport is not that big—you will likely see some of us. While we won’t have room to drive you to The Hilton, we will be happy to point you in the right direction, and, if we can get a few taxi drivers to cooperate, we’ll give them SCWW signs so attendees can gather at common spots.

Rental cars are also available at the airport.

Driving?

The address is 10000 Beach Club Drive, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 29572. Map Quest, Google Maps, Yahoo Maps, and other internet tools can give you a detailed map and directions from your home.

If you are generally familiar with the Myrtle Beach area, and are driving in on Highway 22, as Highway 22 ends at Highway 17, stay in the lane for Kings Road. When you come to the stop sign, you’ll be in the middle of Tanger Outlet Mall. Turn right onto Kings Road. Drive 1.1 miles, then turn left on Kingston Road. Drive .4 of a mile, then turn right onto Beach Club Drive and you will see The Hilton guard gate. Tell the guard that you are checking in for the conference, and he’ll direct you to the front entrance.

If you are driving in on Highway 17 from the North, you’ll turn left on Kings Road into the Tanger Outlet area, just past Colonial Mall. Drive 1.1 miles, then turn left on Kingston Road. Drive .4 of a mile, then turn right onto Beach Club Drive and you will see The Hilton guard gate. Tell the guard that you are checking in for the conference, and he’ll direct you to the front entrance.

From the South on Highway 17, you’ll turn right on Chestnut Road just past The Galleria Mall. Drive .7 mile, then turn right onto Kings Road. Make an immediate left onto Kingston Road. Drive .4 of a mile, then turn right onto Beach Club Drive and you will see The Hilton guard gate. Tell the guard that you are checking in for the conference, and he’ll direct you to the front entrance.

The Hilton and Royale Palms share a parking garage. Parking is free. Valet parking is also available.

Local Transportation

If you are bringing your family, or staying an extra day or two, you may be interested in The Hilton’s in house shuttle service. They will take you to many local restaurants and shopping venues at no charge—and come back to get you.
