SCWW holds a silent auction during the conference to help defray conference costs. This year, the auction begins at 8 a.m. Friday, October 23 and will end at 11 a.m. Sunday, October 25. The winning bidders will claim their prizes at the proctor station, at the end of the auction.
All auction items will be on display near the conference classrooms throughout the conference. We'll have baskets of books and other writer goodies prepared by local chapter. Many will have themes, such as science fiction, women's fiction, travel, children's, etc.
We'll also have WebforAuthor certificates. Most of you are familiar with WebforAuthors.com, but, if not, please check out this fabulous tool at www.webforauthors.com. Specifically designed for authors, this service allows you to create and maintain your own Web site, and includes tools to help you market your work as well.
You'll also find South Carolina arts and crafts items, and of course, faculty book-length critiques! Bidding has been lively for these in the past, so check the bid sheets often. Having professionals read and critique your manuscript and offer advice is not something available for sale, no matter the price. But faculty members have been gracious enough to donate their time and expertise for our group.
All auction proceeds go to SCWW and help us keep the conference registration costs low.
We'll accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover, as well as cash and checks.
