Critique Guidelines

When you register for the conference, you will have the option of selecting one of the following:

  • Standard length prose or script critique – 10 pages plus a one-page synopsis $50
  • Extended length prose or script critique – 30 pages plus a one-page synopsis $100

Each critique comes with:

  • A 20-minute one-on-one appointment during the conference

Appointments for critiques will be held Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, so as not to limit the general conference sessions or pitch and real-time query appointments.

How to submit your critique materials:

  1. You must submit your materials via email and two hard copies.
  2. The email copy should be sent to scwwconference2011@gmail.com.
  3. The hard copies should be sent via standard USPS (please, no FedEx, UPS or anything requiring a signature) to:

  4. Both hard copies and electronic copies should be formatting as follows:
    1. A cover page with your name, contact information and name of manuscript.
    2. Send only the number of pages asked for the critique purchased. If you email a file with more than the requested pages, we will email you back and ask for a corrected file. Out of respect for your work, we do not make any changes to the files received.
    3. A synopsis is optional. If you send one, please, keep it to one-page. If it is longer than one page, it will not be sent to the faculty member.
  5. Please include your return address on your mailing materials.

Attendees will be notified within three to five business days of the receipt of materials and the faculty member you’ll have an appointment with on Friday, Oct. 21. In addition, this year we’ll email you with your appointment time at least a week before the conference.
